Meet the Intern: Katie

Katie, EDA Intern

My name is Katie, and I am a Senior at Central Washington University currently pursuing my degree in Public Relations. Originally from Kent, WA, I transferred from Green River Community College as a junior to complete my degree. At first, I was unsure of my decision to live in such a small town, but the people and charm turned my views around, and I am pleased to say I have fallen in love with the town of Ellensburg.

In my spare time I enjoy snowboarding, reading, and spending time with my family back in Seattle. Growing up I was fortunate enough to explore many parts of the United States and some of the neighboring countries including Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and three states Brazil. My traveling experiences with family, love for new cultures, and my constant curiosity for other parts of the world have lead me to the Public Relations aspect of the travel or hospitality industry.

I have taken the time to involve myself within the CWU community and major. I am the current Senator and year-long member of the Communications Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta. A frequent student supervisor for the Central Communication Agency, our student ran PR firm, and a die-hard Wildcat.
