Ellensburg is rich with culture. There are outlets a plenty to express creativity, try something new, and find your niche.


Gallery One hosts a variety of classes for children and adults throughout the year. From Sip and Paint, to Block Carving, to Oil Pastels, and Tie-Dye T-Shirts, you are sure to find a class that speaks to you or your children. Visit for more information.

Craft Works Design Studio is new to Main Street and has limited hours. However, they do host regular calligraphy workshops for anyone looking to spice up their penmanship or work on a special project. You can learn pen point or brush calligraphy in a creative and encouraging environment of students with all skill levels. Visit for more information.

The Kittitas County Historical Museum has recently implemented downtown tours. If you are a history buff and would like to know more about downtown Ellensburg, visit their website  to sign up for an upcoming trip to the past.


If you are a fan of knitting, or would like to be a fan of knitting, Yarn Folk has the classes for you! Currently offering classes like Beginning Knitting, Margo Poncho, and even PYOP (Pick Up Your Own Project where you can bring in your own project to work on), you are sure to find inspiration for your next project or learn how to start your first! If you are a fan of music or are a musician yourself, Old Skools is the place for you. They regularly host live music and open mic nights. They also have a massive collection of records and CDs. Visit them on Facebook for regular updates.


Downtown Ellensburg hosts [The Pub] by Iron Horse Brewery, Gard Vintners, Grapes and Crepes, Spring Board Winery, Brix Elevage Wine Co., Bruce’s Place, Blue Rock Saloon… the list goes on! Each place providing a variety of beer and wine to tantalize your taste buds. Not to mention all of these places are walking distance from each other!
