It’s summer time! That means hotter temperatures and longer days, encouraging everyone to get out of the house and enjoy local events. If you are a bit of a night owl and are looking for some fun things to do after work or on the weekends, check out this list of upcoming events that will get you downtown after dark.
EDA Annual Meeting
On Thursday, June 29, from 6-8 pm, the EDA will host their Annual Meeting in the Elks Building Grand Ballroom. We invite you to join us as we recognize downtown accomplishments, partners, and volunteers. Appetizers and a cash bar will be provided by Ellensburg Pasta Company, and live music will be performed by Abbigale Smith.
Jazz in the Valley
July 28-30 is the 20th annual Jazz in the Valley in downtown Ellensburg. This family friendly event places 30 musicians in 10 locations throughout downtown. While there will be plenty of jazz to keep your toes tapping during the day, you are sure to dance the night away on Friday and Saturday of the festival as well. Find out more at JazzInTheValley.com.
Ellensburg Rodeo Hoedown in the Downtown
Get ready to kick up your boots and boogie! Hoedown in the Downtown is coming up August 30 in downtown Ellensburg. This free, family friendly event generously sponsored by the Ellensburg Rodeo runs from 7-10 pm at the Rotary Pavilion. It will feature live music by the Dusty 45’s, a cash bar of local beer and wine, and pizza by downtown’s one and only, Pizza Colin. For more information, visit the Ellensburg Downtown Association website.
Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo
While the Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo are not downtown, they are a great way to get out of the house with your friends and family, day or night!
New to the Ellensburg Rodeo this year is Rockin’ the Arena on August 31. Starting at 8 pm enjoy music by Zach Hinson and Ned Ledoux for some good old fashioned dancing in the dirt! For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Ellensburg Rodeo website.
The Kittitas County Fair will have you “dreaming of country nights and carnival lights” with activities, vendors, rides, and entertainment from August 31st through September 1st. For more information, visit the Kittitas County Fair website.
