Ellensburg Downtown Association Encourages Businesses to Plant in Planters in 2020.

This week would have contained Downtown Planter Day, a day we all know and love. On this day, the Ellensburg Downtown Association and volunteers fill 65 downtown planters with beautiful flowers.

2020 is looking a little different.

Volunteers of the Month – December

Volunteers of the Month – Distinguished Young Women of Ellensburg

We have had the great pleasure of working with the Distinguished Young Women of Ellensburg at our annual Teddy Bear Tea event for many years. This group is truly top notch and gives you the upmost faith that “kids these days” are hardworking, thoughtful, professional, and generous. This year, we were able to work with Tess Preppernau, Madison Thompson, Sophie Hanson and Annie Kang, four wonderful young women who showed excitement and dedication in their volunteer work.

When I decided to stay in Ellensburg after attending CWU, I was asked the typical question “what’s in Ellensburg?” Well, the sole reason I decided to stay was because of what’s in Ellensburg. This small town has plenty of options to shop and dine while supporting local businesses. You can be an Ellensburg resident, or just someone passing through, and something is bound to interest you!

Volunteer of the Month – August

Volunteer of the Month – August

Dawn Alford, Organization Committee

Our August Volunteer of the Month is someone who shines bright and brings a positive energy to each committee meeting. You’ve more than likely seen Dawn volunteering at EDA events, strolling throughout CWU’s campus, or passing by on a local trail. While she is fairly new to the community, she has wasted no time finding her happy places.

Along the way, I’ve learned many ways to support small businesses.
