Volunteers of the Month – Distinguished Young Women of Ellensburg
We have had the great pleasure of working with the Distinguished Young Women of Ellensburg at our annual Teddy Bear Tea event for many years. This group is truly top notch and gives you the upmost faith that “kids these days” are hardworking, thoughtful, professional, and generous. This year, we were able to work with Tess Preppernau, Madison Thompson, Sophie Hanson and Annie Kang, four wonderful young women who showed excitement and dedication in their volunteer work.
Volunteer of the Month – November
Morgan Arbuckle, Admin Assistant
When I decided to stay in Ellensburg after attending CWU, I was asked the typical question “what’s in Ellensburg?” Well, the sole reason I decided to stay was because of what’s in Ellensburg. This small town has plenty of options to shop and dine while supporting local businesses. You can be an Ellensburg resident, or just someone passing through, and something is bound to interest you!
Volunteer of the Month – August
Dawn Alford, Organization Committee
Our August Volunteer of the Month is someone who shines bright and brings a positive energy to each committee meeting. You’ve more than likely seen Dawn volunteering at EDA events, strolling throughout CWU’s campus, or passing by on a local trail. While she is fairly new to the community, she has wasted no time finding her happy places.
Volunteer of the Month – July
Strong volunteers bring a skill set and/or connections to your organization that you might not otherwise posses. They bring things to the table, whether that be ideas or physical resources, that help to further the mission and serve the community.
Molly Jones-Kerchner, Director
I think we can all agree that supporting small and local businesses is important. Something we may struggle to understand is how to do so. Throughout my time with the Ellensburg Downtown Association, I have had the pleasure of being educated on this topic from small business owners themselves. Along the way, I’ve learned many ways to support small businesses.
Volunteer of the Month – May
We are happy to feature Cait Dalton as our May Volunteer of the Month. Cait first got involved with the EDA as a Promotions Committee member and has since become the Committee Chair. Recently, Cait also joined the EDA’s Board of Directors. It seems even more fitting to feature Cait at this time, as she is also a wonderful mother to two adorable kiddos, and we want to wish her a happy Mother’s Day all month long!
